Collett and Sons Ltd. once again put its expertise in heavy transport to good use, delivering a massive 234-tonne stator from Heysham Port to the Gretna Grid Stability Facility in Scotland. This operation underscores specialised transport’s crucial role in bolstering energy security.

The journey began with the stator’s arrival at Heysham Port, where it was initially staged using a modular flattop trailer. To prepare for the long haul, Collett’s 24-axle girder bridge trailer was assembled around the stator, ensuring a seamless loading process. The convoy then embarked on a meticulously planned 92-mile route.
